Juan Ortiz
Juan Ortiz
Chief Executive Officer

Ortiz was named CEO of Navarro Discount Pharmacy in July of 2011. Ortiz is currently focused on the execution of the company's expansion program in various stages of leasing and construction. He joined Navarro as its CFO in August 2008, having been specifically recruited because of his ability to manage complex businesses and operations. He and his team stabilized sales and customer traffic, identified new revenue streams, increased profitability and reduced operating expenses by $10 million in a 24 month period. In recognition of these achievements, Ortiz was named CFO of the Year in the Turnaround category by the South Florida Business Journal in 2011.

In April 2013, Juan M. Ortiz was elected Treasurer and Executive Committee member of the 2013-2014 National Association of Chain Drug Stores, a non-profit organization of traditional drug stores, supermarkets, and mass merchants with pharmacies – from regional chains with four stores to national companies. He is a member of the American and Florida Institutes of Certified Public Accountants, and serves a Trustee and Treasurer of the Board of Trustees for St. Thomas Episcopal Parish School. Juan is a graduate of Florida State University, is a Certified Public Accountant and was born in Manila, Philippines.

Prior to Navarro, Ortiz was CEO of Atlantic Dental from 2006-2008. Atlantic Dental was a portfolio company of MBF Healthcare Partners, who also are the equity partners for Navarro. Ortiz brings vast knowledge in financial management functions to include business and financial planning, budgeting, forecasting, analysis, internal and external reporting having served for 11 years CFO of Bell Microproducts Latin America, a computer hardware distributor, and prior to that, as an audit manager at Deloitte &Touche.

Albert Garcia

Executive Vice President, Pharmacy Operations

Albert Garcia joined Navarro Discount Pharmacy in April 2007 as Executive Vice President of Pharmacy Operations. Prior to joining Navarro, Garcia was a Regional Pharmacy Supervisor for Walgreens with oversight responsibilities of 28 stores in the Dade and Broward Country areas. Garcia also worked for Eckerd Drugs and Kendall Regional Hospital where he held various pharmacy positions. Garcia has been recognized in the community for his active participation in various organizations. In 2004, he was appointed to the Florida Board of Pharmacy by Governor Jeb Bush and later served as Chairperson in 2008. He also served as the Vice-Chair of the Florida Drug Wholesale Advisory Council from 2008 to 2009. Garcia holds a Bachelor of Science Degree from the University of Florida and a Masters Degree in Health Law from Nova Southeastern University where he graduated with honors as Summa Cum Laude. In 1999, he received the Distinguished Pharmacy Service Award from the University of Florida.

Cristina Leon-Rivero

Chief Marketing and Merchandising Officer

Cristy Leon-Rivero supervises all of the company's purchasing, niche assortment products, Vida Mia (Navarro's private label line of products) as well as marketing activities including branding and market research, advertising, health screenings, in-store promotions, public relations, community relations and social media. She and her staff are responsible for centralizing and coordinating all marketing efforts. Leon-Rivero joined Navarro Discount Pharmacy in August 2008 as Director of Human Resources. She was promoted to Vice President of Marketing in 2010 and CMO in 2013. Prior to this, she was Senior Vice President and Director of Human Resources for Premier American Bank and served as Director of Human Resource Operations for Doral Golf Resort and Spa, A Marriott Resort where she served on a task-force team in introducing new properties. Leon-Rivero is a member of the Board of Directors for the South Florida After School All Stars. She holds a Bachelor's degree from Florida International University in Hospitality and Tourism Management and a Masters in Business Administration from the University of Miami.

Manuel Leon
Manuel Leon
Vice President, Non Retail Assets

In his role as Vice President, Manuel Leon is responsible for OTC Health Solutions, the wholly owned subsidiary of Navarro Discount Pharmacies, which partners with health plans and employee groups to fulfill and distribute OTC benefits nationwide. In addition to the above, Mr. Leon also manages the Navarro Distribution Center in Medley, FL. The 270,000 Sq. Ft facility supports store operations in various capacities, houses all administrative and executive personnel as well as several ancillary business units.
Mr. Leon holds a Masters of Business Administration from Florida International University and is married with 3 daughters.

Sergio Campos

Chief Information Officer

Sergio Campos joined Navarro Discount Pharmacy in November 1997 as Information Technology Director. Prior to joining Navarro, Campos was Vice President of IT for Luria and Son where he worked for six years. Campos's main contributions in his technology management function within Navarro include working with various teams on systems and process planning, design and development, implementation and integration. Campos holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Systems Engineering from Simon Bolivar in Venezuela.

Vice President of Store Operations

Vince Urrutia joined Navarro Discount Pharmacies in August of 2012, as Senior Director of Store Operations. Today, Vince has taken the charge of Vice President of Store Operations, responsible for the full scope of Retail Operations, including Front End Operations which encompasses Fragrance Sales and Digital Technology Departments. In his role, Vince works closely with all third party and community partners, including Gran Paris, US Postal Service, Continental Bank and Western Union, among others.

Vince brings over twenty five years of drug store retail experience, as he is formerly the head of Multicultural Marketing and Merchandising, U.S. and Puerto Rico, for CVS Caremark. His career has been heavily focused on customizing the shopping experience for diverse consumers within markets that face ever changing demographics. In 2004, when CVS acquired Eckerd Drugs in Florida and Texas, Vince lead the South Florida market in an Operational role as Regional Manager for 200 stores from Fort Lauderdale through Key West. In 2006, Vince took on the role of Senior Manager of Multicultural for the chain impacting nearly 2,500 stores from California to New York and every key market in between with a highly diverse consumer base.

Vince is active in the South Florida community- participating in the Emmaus Discipleship Program, Knights of Columbus and supports the Miami Children's Hospital Hugs & Kisses Foundation. Vince is an active member of the Retailer Executives Federation and has been a guest speaker at Hispanic 360 and Chamber of Commerce, where he was awarded the Hispanic Vision & Leadership Business Award. He resides in Miami, Florida with his wife, Madeleine and their two young sons.
