In March 2010, President Barack Obama signed the Affordable Care Act.
The Affordable Care Act is also known as Obama Care or Health Care Reform. It is an individual mandate that requires all Legal Residents of the United States to have health insurance.
By ensuring that all individuals are covered personal insurance premiums will decrease making it more affordable to have healthcare coverage, preventive health care is likely to be practiced more often, and more.
What does the Health Care Reform Mean to Me?
Health Care Reform affects all Legal Residents of the United States. The level of insurance coverage an individual must obtain to quantify with the act's requirements varies financially with each person's current health status and age.
Anyone that does not have health insurance after March 31st, 2014, will result in paying a penalty. It is encouraged to get covered by December 15, 2013.
